We get cracking.

It’s all about the .coms. Coming up with a company name is one thing, making sure the name is available at companies house. Then the .com the .co.uk the .net. The number of times I have ran home with a great company name only to find it already taken by some mom & pop business who haven’t updated their site since Y2K. Anyway Crow Hill is a no-no so we went with “The Crow Hill Project”. Bought all the URLs, registered the company. The whole shebang. Until I had a meeting this week with a startup specialist who said “project” was all kinds of bad as a word for a company.

“Christian, first of all, for the USA “projects” means something very different from what we see them as in the UK. But even in the UK it has a temporary connotation. Its sounds like something you’re gonna try. Raise some cash, then bail. There’s no confidence, or permanence to it. You can do better”.

So, back to the drawing board.

“THE FIRST JULY 2023 – For me day one. I’m gonna fill you in tomorrow cos I’m knackered. BUT today it was a good day. DAY ONE!

Sunday 2nd July – Still knackered. Need to dedicate time to telling all. Just bloody wasted. Gonna get a pass to catch up tomz. XXX 119 tomorrow, can’t wait.

Monday 3rd – Ok so sitting on table in back of field. Dogs having a good run around. Main take away from weekend summit is lovely brilliant people. All wanting to fucking rock in their areas of experience. Leading with community, sample excellence & design. We came up with a workable timeline & we’re starting to get our hedz round this. I just need to keep ship afloat until October & then we will see. Oh & new company name! – THE CROW HILL COMPANY.”

My thinking… Murder Of Crows, Company Of Thieves, Crow Hill Company. Referring not to it’s corporate nature but that we’re a company in the sense of companions. Bought the URLs, one cost me £5,000. Urgh. Thems crows.
