Dune II

Client: Hans Zimmer
Crow Hill was honoured to be commissioned by Hans Zimmer to create a bespoke set of tools that used choir samples never before heard in movie theatres. These chorale sounds form the basis of the non-orchestral palette used by Zimmer to follow up to his seminal Oscar-winning score of the first instalment.

Mint

Client: Apple TV+
In what was an epic undertaking for Crow Hill, lead composer Christian Henson and the team created an immersive world spread over 22 episodes. Weaving unusual ensembles of folk musicians. Bowing bazoukis, thunderous bodhrans, and warping hurdy gurdies into growls that will guarantee the children will be watching this from behind their sofas.

Inside No.9

Client: BBC Comedy
Each week, something different. Lead composer Christian Henson has created unique soundtracks and worlds for all 55 episodes of this sprawling masterful franchise. From big band show tunes to sampled cellos amplified through distorted fender speakers, to ghastly ghoulish beds of voices made up of Bulgarian “Thracian” singers. Crow Hill are delighted to have been asked to complete season 9 later in 2024 which will be the final season of this unmissable anthology of horrific dark humour.

Poirot

Client: BBC DRAMA
Lead composer Christian Henson was commissioned to create 9 unique feature-length scores to bring this franchise to a close. From using hundreds of ticking timepieces for “Clocks” to creating bohemian Melotron style loops for “Murder On The Orient Express”. Henson ensured that for each film, each with it’s own director’s vision, a different unique solid flavour helped weave together ever thickening plots.

Alien Isolation

Client: SEGA
For this project multi-award-winning composing team The Flight (aka Joe Henson and Alexis Smith) were partnered with Christian Henson who undertook the task of creating an imagined retro-future using the orchestral palette of Jerry Goldsmith. In a series of large orchestral sessions at Air Studios Henson compiled a truly unique palette of immersive orchestral material that has influenced the ongoing Alien franchise and subjected millions of players to a truly terrifying gaming experience which led to the trio being nominated for a BAFTA.

La Rafle

Client: UGC
Roselyne Bosch’s harrowing tale of the round up of Jewish communities in France during WWII provided a challenge for lead composer Christian Henson who combined chilling Phillip Glass style repetition with thunderous banks of percussion.

Narnia

Client: HARRY GREGSON-WILLIAMS
Composer Harry Gregson-Williams and Elizabeth Scott created a haunting lullaby that opened the first instalment of the Narnia saga. Christian Henson was approached to help with the arrangement and to provide an immersive soundscape that didn’t satirise the established tropes of bells and celestes but instead used a unique inspired palette of sounds using common kitchen utensils, crockery and glassware. Whilst the train pulls out of the station at the beginning of the film you may be drawn into its magical frosty quality unaware you’re actually listening to a mixing bowl and a saucepan.

Black Death

Client: HANWAY FILMS
Christopher Smith’s epic Black Death provided a challenge for lead composer Christian Henson. How to help tell a story from the dark ages using a modern vernacular. His solution was soaring vocals from Indie artist Dot Allison, coupled with Tibetan Monks singing alongside an all male choir with percussion provided by a circle of electric and acoustic basses unusually played with wooden sticks.

Annika

Client: BBC1
Composer Dot Allison of Crow Hill Company co-created the title theme and score for the hit detective series 'Annika', a TV adaptation of the BBC Radio 4 play 'Annika Stranded'. Working remotely with Anton Newcombe, acclaimed director Philip John, and award-winning producers 'Black Camel Pictures', they crafted this unique and memorable score. The series, starring Olivier Award winner Nicola Walker, broke records on Alibi TV and aired on BBC1. Both Dot and Anton are available for TV and film commissions.
